Biggest DJs 2018:Guide 101

Instead of looking at ticket sales and money, let’s take at the top sought out and talked-about DJs of the past year.

1.      Martin Garrix

This Dutch DJ and record Producer from Amstelveen is currently the closest thing to a child prodigy in the electronic music world. Martijn Garristen, who goes by Martin Garrix, was 17 when his first release Animals took the international music worlds by storm in 2013.  Learn all about his beginner turntables here.

2.      Marshmello

Following Garrix is Marshmello, an American electronic music producer and DJ, who first came into the scene through his remixes of songs by Jack Ü and Zedd. The biggest hit since Garrix hit the scene a few years ago, Marshmello is set apart by his pop-EDM end of house tracks, and his distinctive headgear which has helped keep his identity mostly a secret.

3.      David Guetta

French DJ, record producer, and songwriter, Pierre David Guetta has been in the music industry since 1984 but set off his solo career to greater heights. His 2009 track When Love Takes Over (ft. Kelly Rowland) was declared to be the best dance-pop collaboration of all time by Billboard in 2013.

4.      Calvin Harris

Ever since his breakthrough into the music industry in 2007, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, has been a strong force in both dance music as well as pop, and has been acclaimed through two AMA wins, two Teen Choice Awards, four MTV Music, and one Grammy award, among others.

Forbes has listed Tiësto as one of the world’s highest-earning DJs in 2014, earning a whopping $22million.

6.      Deadmau5

7.      The Chainsmokers

Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart constitute this American DJ and production duo, who found their breakthrough into the electronic and electropop industry with their 2014 song ‘#Single’ which was a top 20 song across the world.
